Use this 10 step plan to quit smoking or for any habit you wish to change.

10 steps
Before you know it, you will have mastered the power to transform any habit you choose!

Get Ready to Quit Smoking ...

1. Identify a habit you want to change and the new habit you want to replace it.

[eg From smoking to giving up smoking]

2. Notice your dominant thought around that habit and how it feels.

[eg Wanting to quit and feeling the difficulty of it]

3. Be sure to change the focus from what you do not want to what you do want.

[eg Don't want to want a cigarette. Do want to enjoy feeling healthy.]

4. Identify the benefits of releasing the old habit and creating the new habit.

[eg Free! Healthy! Happy!]

5. Spend 30 seconds visualizing how it feels to already have your new habit and let it go.

6. Acknowledge and celebrate each time you embrace your new habit.

Carry a 3×5 card with you and check off the number of times a day you are in your new habit.

7. Be gentle with yourself if you fall back into your old habit, knowing you’re moving forward in perfect timing.

8. Restate your new habit of thought to yourself.

9. Spend 30 seconds ‘acting as if’ you have your new habit and let it go.

10. Notice any inspired ideas or actions that come up for you and follow your inspiration.
